Marking |
Introduction | Series Marking | Marking Vouchers | Submission of Marking | Marking Deadlines | Refund Policy
You can have your attempts at any of the currently available ActEd Assignments or Mock Exams marked by ActEd.
All scripts are marked by an ActEd tutor or other qualified UK-based actuary.
When marking your scripts, we aim to provide specific advice to improve your chances of success in the exam. We also aim to return your script as swiftly as possible. Note that we only accept the current version of assignments for marking, ie those published for the sessions leading to the 2008 exams. |
 |
Series Marking and Mock Exam Marking is ideal for first-time sitters since it will help you to make steady progress and provide regular feedback on your understanding of the material. |
 |
Marking Vouchers are more flexible and allow you to submit your script at any time, irrespective of the deadline. |
If you might change your study plans in light of your exam results, we recommend that you use Marking Vouchers rather than Series Marking. These are more expensive than Series Marking but will give you much more flexibility should your plans change. |
Assignment Marking |
 |
You can buy Series Marking for a specified series of assignments (e.g. Subject CT2 Series X) . By submitting your scripts in line with our published recommended submission dates, you will make steady progress through the course. We also publish a set of final dealine dates - if you miss the final deadline date for an assignment your script will not be marked. Recommended submission dates and final deadline dates are given in the study guide and are also available on our website.
Once you have booked Series Marking you will not be able to defer the marking to a future study period. |

Mock Exam Marking |
 |
You can buy Mock Exam Marking for a specified subject (eg Subject ST3). We publish a set of final dealine dates - if you miss the final deadline date for a mock exam, your script will not be marked. Recommended submission dates and final deadline dates are given in the study guide, and also available on our website. Marking Vouchers are transferable between study sessions, between subjects and even between students. The holder has the right to submit an attempt at any current assignment or mock exam for marking at any time, irrespective of the deadlines. However, you will need to adhere to the explicit Marking Voucher deadline dates in each session to ensure that your script is returned before the date of the exam. Marking Vouchers are valid for four years from the date of purchase and can be used or refunded at any time up to the expiry date (which is shown clearly on each voucher). |

You can submit your assignments for marking by either fax, email or post. Of these methods it is actually best to post scripts if postal delays are not a problem. This is because it is easier for markers to comment on presentational aspects of your work if they are marking an original rather than a faxed/scanned copy.
Submission of scripts |
|
To fax your script you should send it to the following number |
|
Marking fax number:
+ 44 870 3305 960 |
This line is reserved for faxed scripts. Please do not send any other faxes to this number. |
To email your script please send it to: ActEdMarking@bpp.com
In order to make the system work successfully please: |
 |
Write legibly in black ink ( we do not accept typed assignments ). |
 |
Leave at least 2cm margin on all borders. |
 |
Number all the pages of your script (excluding the cover sheet) and write the total number of pages which your script contains on the assignment cover sheet. Please do not include the cover sheet itself in this count. |
 |
Write your email address clearly at the top of your cover sheet, if you wish to receive an acknowledgement of receipt. |
Return of scripts |
|
Your marked script will be returned to you as a scanned document by email, rather than by post. Returning your script by email will significantly reduce the turnaround time.
From past experience the quality of the scanned document is very good. However, if you experience any difficulties in reading your script please contact us by email or by telephone +44 1235 550005. |
Series Marking and Mock Exam Marking is valid only for the session for which it is purchased.
Refunds on Series Marking are not given once an assignment has been submitted for marking or the first final deadline date for the set of assignments has passed.
Refunds on unused Mock Exam Marking are not given once the final deadline date has passed.
Marking Vouchers can be cancelled if they are returned to ActEd before the expiry date and a credit note will be issued to the person/company who made the original payment.
